As a commercial photographer I get a lot of different assignments and one of my favourite jobs is going to the airport. At the airport I shoot for a large advertising company on a regular basis. The brief is simple - "Photograph people interacting with the advertising". Basically, just photographing people walking past the advertising.
Sometimes commercial photography takes you to places that you didn't expect to find interesting.
I didn't know a thing about AVDATA. I didn't even know the company existed until Andrew from Cube Project Management asked me to go and photograph their office extension. It turns out they're a pretty big business, and an interesting one too.
This was another shoot for Hotondo Homes in Springbank Rise in Canberra. This display house is simply stunning and its a testament to Bruce and Katina who operate Hotondo here in Canberra.
Axis Hairdressing recently opened the doors to their new commercial shopfront, located in the M3 building in Braddon, Canberra. Helen from Sugar Designs was the interior designer for the project and she didn't hold back in designing one of the most beautiful Hair Salons in the Canberra region.
I do love to shoot a new, clean, well built home. Like cars have that new car smell, so do houses. That smell comes with new appliances, carpet and shiny new wooden floors which just adds a nice feeling when its done right.
Recently, Helen from Sugar Designs allowed us to photograph her home and office in one of Canberra's newest suburbs, Crace. Helen has decorated her space with a lovely attention to detail. Modern, vintage, eclectic and industrial are all words that can be used to describe the furniture and fixtures in this home.
