Our friend Rocky (the Cockie) is back this morning, pecking at the window to let me know he's here. Seems to be bringing in a few more to his flock.
I decided to use a vintage lens this morning. A Nikon 50mm 1.2 from the early 70's. It's an old-school manual only lens and takes a bit of practice to get used to. New cameras don't have split focus prisms, the ones the help you focus through the lens. These days its all auto-focus and makes life a lot easier but less technical.
You need to anticipate your subject with a manual lens. Where it is now and where its going to be.
The cockatoos are fun to practice with and they let me get close enough to get some great shots.
